UF Student Science Training Program (SSTP) 2017

This summer our lab has paired with the UF SSTP program in giving unique laboratory experiences to two top high school students from around the state of Florida. We welcomed Eboni Arnold and Yasmine Gillespie into our lab to fabricate and characterize nanocomposite polymeric stents through various methods for biomedical applications. Throughout this 7 week program, the students work in the lab, collect data, and present their findings to the lab group and to their peers in the program. Both Eboni and Yasmine gave final presentations on their research they completed over the time of the program. Eboni Arnold was awarded a scholarship from the Florida Alliance for Health Professions Diversity and had the opportunity to present her poster to fellow recipients, SSTP peers, mentors, and leaders of the Florida Alliance.
